Fixing Bosch Dishwasher Drainage Issues
Check the Filter Inside the Dishwasher: There is a screen that is supposed to block large items from entering the drain hose, but smaller pieces can pass the screen and clog the hose. If you find larger pieces of food or glass in the filter, remove it and rerun the cycle to see if that was the cause of the problem.
Check for Air Gaps: The most common cause for a clogged dishwasher is food getting caught in the air gap. Firstly, remove the air gap cover. Next, remove the top of the air gap and clean out anything that might be blocking it and run the cycle again. If the problem is not resolved, move onto the next step.
Check the Drainage Hose for a Clog: To do this step you’ll need a bucket t, a screwdriver, and pliers. Disconnect the drain hose from the air gap with the screwdriver and pliers and empty the water to see if the hose is blocked. To check if the drain hose is clogged, run the washer on the rinse cycle and hold the bucket under the hose. You can unblock it by using a hanger to push out the obstruction. If you need to inspect the drain hose and it is behind a wall, a technician may need to be called.
Clogging Prevention: To prevent future clogging from happening, scrape large and sticky chunks of food off your dishes.
